Description
The role of the reference genome in many DNA sequencing analyses is not hidden from anyone. However, conventional linear reference genomes only show one version of each locus, ignoring variation in the population and causing reference biases.
Variation graphs are some types of sequence graphs that compactly, show variations in the population and can help us in that way.
In this presentation, we will introduce vg toolkit, which with many features and usage of variation graphs, helps us to represent the reference genome in a graph structure so that different variations in the population are seen in the analyses, and cause less bias toward the reference genome.
